Built in 1746 Brant Point Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in the United States, and it guards the northern entrance to Nantucket Harbor. Folklore and tradition suggest that throwing pennies overboard as you sail around the point and out of the harbor will ensure your safe return.
